Faller Packaging publishes sustainability report for 2019

Faller Packaging has published its sustainability report for 2019. Under the title “New values for a successful collaboration”, the specialist company for pharmaceutical packaging looks back on a very successful business year and shows how economic, ecological and social responsibility go hand in hand in a company.

2019 was very successful for Faller Packaging. The group of companies with its headquarters in Waldkirch, Baden, increased its sales by almost 10% to almost €145 million – a new record high. Both the German sites and the subsidiaries in Denmark and Poland evinced strong development. The subsidiary PackEx GmbH, founded the previous year, also started well, commencing full production in the second half of 2019. Faller Packaging also acquired Pharma Print Kft., a company which produces package inserts in Debrecen, Hungary. This new location gives Faller additional expertise and capacity in the manufacture of package inserts, and it will also help the company to serve its customers with even greater speed and a more efficient breadth of support along the entire value chain.

However, the most striking development of 2019 was the August Faller rebranding. To meet and master the major challenges posed by the industry, the company repositioned itself last year with a new brand strategy and a new name – August Faller became Faller Packaging. The company provides detailed information about this and other interesting news in its recently published sustainability report – and as the name suggests, it is not only economic developments that play a significant role in this publication: “Our philosophy is to harmonise economic success, ecological responsibility and social commitment,” explains Dr Michael Faller, Managing Partner of the Faller Packaging Group.

Interesting insights into ecological and social activities
In line with this philosophy, Faller’s report also provides interesting insights into the company’s ecological footprint. For example, it has managed to reduce energy consumption (and consequently CO2 emissions) in relation to output volume at almost all its German sites. The amount of hazardous waste per tonne of printing material has been significantly reduced, and Faller also obtains its essential raw materials from certified sources and supports environmental protection projects.

The packaging specialist company also attaches great importance to social responsibility. The company health management programme, which Faller initiated in 2018, picked up speed in 2019 and was expanded to include several interesting offers. Many measures have since been put in place to promote the health of the employees and improve their working conditions. Faller has also committed itself to the region in the role of a training company and is involved in charitable activities.

Details about this and much more additional information can be found in Faller Packaging’s current sustainability report
