As part of International Women's Day, we regularly portray remarkable women from Faller Packaging.
Sandra Wiesler, Team Leader Logistics and Shipping Department, tells us what always fascinates her about her job and what tips really help women on their way to senior management.
Why did you choose your profession?
Many important steps are necessary for smooth transport and shipping. I am fascinated by the individual adjusting screws that mesh like cogs to ensure an optimal process flow. The logistics sector is one of the most important and fastest-growing industries.
That's what makes my work so varied and exciting, so that no two days are the same.
What is your professional background?
After graduating from high school, I learned the profession of "logistics assistant". The basis for this is an apprenticeship as a businesswoman for forwarding and logistics services with an additional qualification in logistics management.
After that, I gained a lot of experience in the areas of land, air/sea freight and customs. Since 2017, I have also been a team leader at Faller Packaging.
What motivates you in your daily work?
I have found my absolute dream job here.
My tasks, especially as a team leader, are incredibly fun. Seeing the daily successes and being able to make a difference every day motivates me immensely. Of course, my great colleagues and the entire Faller team also contribute to the great working atmosphere.
Why did you choose Faller as your employer?
Faller Packaging is a great employer with a very good reputation in the region.
Faller is very family-oriented and the flat hierarchies offer the opportunity for self-fulfilment. In addition, I can live the perfect work-life balance at Faller.
Your advice to women who are interested in your profession?
Have the guts and just do it!
It hasn't been a "Men's World" for a long time. And don't be afraid of numbers and technology - good communication is at least as important and this is clearly a strength of women.
